Inspired by New York's legendary nightclubs, from the STUDIO 54 which was a star-studded Manhattan nightclub in the 70's to the NASA dance floor where young and young New Yorkers embraced in the early 1990s, this season's KENZO is rich in interpretations of New York nightclubs in two eras. The enthusiasm of the KENZO brand for the subculture is cherished.

1990s New York Party Monster Modeling

The first wave of the KENZO Spring-Summer series was impressive with a meticulous and bold nightclub. The fascinating NASA dance floor became a gathering place for baristas. On the other hand, the NASA Party's leaflets became a microcosm of nightclub culture.

In the early spring, we saw a large number of NASA flyer printing elements, nightclub popular cartoon badges were added to the jeans, and the exaggerated flamboyant makeup was printed on flowing skirts. The exaggerated tight knit shape evolved in the 1990s. Season's sexy hollow jacquard, retro metal elements turned punk style.

- Antonio Lopez and the 70s of extreme enjoyment -

In 1977, Mr Kenzo Takada, the founder of the KENZO brand, performed a show at Studio 49, a legendary nightclub in Manhattan, New York. Famous supermodels Grace Jones and Jerry Hall were invited to participate. The 17 Spring-Summer series was designed to celebrate the spiritual extreme enjoyment brought about by the cultural collection.

The Studio 54 in the 1970s is a space for a rich culture where visitors express their individuality and connotation in a confident and delicate dress. Especially women are chasing the thirst for freedom in unique dress expressions. Invited to work with Antonio Lopez, a globally renowned artist from the 1970s, is the starting point of the series. KENZO takes everyone into the archives of the master and reviews his classic works.

Antonio's work records the iconic era in Paris and is the golden age for the development of the KENZO brand. This connection, tribute to time, reinterpretation, interpretation of today's female image created by KENZO.

In the second wave of the spring and summer series, the nine-glyph photos were arranged, collaged, and Polaroid photos were taken. This recorded the time that could not be returned once passed in the 1970s. These images that were recorded in the past were printed on a variety of clothes.
